ON A STREET IN SEATTLE

ON A STREET IN SEATTLE
Brian Le Lay

Businessmen march through
The crosswalk
With their erections
For money,
Squinted eyes slant
From the sun,
A crushed beer can
Is pierced
By a bare branch
And set upon blue-sky
And clouds

  1. MM welcomes Brian Le Lay with three poems, this being the first. I dig his style and the way he manages to say so much in so few words, with an impressive command of imagery.

  2. erections in the crosswalk
    thank god for all-arounders

  3. These blokes, sleepless in Seattle with their sex, sun and beer must get a life of or on their own!

  4. That is a pretty good description of Seattle, though luckily never wandered such a crosswalk. We are sun blinded when it appears.
