FIRST LOVE

FIRST LOVE
Neil Ellman

She spectacular-sleek
lines of a ‘64 Chevy Impala
convertible
stretching, reaching
“Hello” be mine
“Hello” the thrust
hold me
trust me
in the morning
I will still be yours
while we explore
each other’s world
and feel
the quickening motors
of our desire—
she knows the speed
of a lion’s kiss
before I ride her
into the night.

  1. More spicy fun from Neil Ellman. I’m reminded of a Thomas Dolby song called The Keys to Her Ferrari…now that’s recondite retro…

  2. A true rock’n roll poem.
