SUBMISSION

SUBMISSION
Neil Ellman

So much for submission
to your whips and chains.
I won’t wear
the leather mask
you force on me
serving as
your silent
obedient slave
leashed to your will—
our marriage by your law
is done
and I am spent.

  1. The last of Neil Ellman’s current submissions, if you’ll pardon the word. Those of you who’ve read Neil’s other work on MM and elsewhere will know that his last three poems (including this) are a bit of a departure. Either way, he’s always a pleasure to read.

  2. So much to love in this, so much.

  3. Extended , suspended poetic, single and marital narrative judgmental in this S and M verse.
